Founded on the belief that yoga is not a fitness routine — it is a science of living. Science and Stillness was created to bring that science to sincere students everywhere, through structured depth, experienced guidance, and authentic practice.
Science and Stillness was born from a simple but urgent realisation: the world has access to yoga classes, but rarely to yoga education. Most students learn to perform asanas without understanding why, breathe without learning how, and practice for years without touching the philosophy that makes yoga transformative.
Founded by Nisha Ahya in 2024 and rooted in Rajkot, India — Science and Stillness was built to close that gap. Drawing from classical texts, functional anatomy, and breathwork science, every course here is designed not just to inform, but to transform.
This is not just an online platform, but a learning community grounded in shared inquiry, rigorous understanding, and a deep commitment to the practice — where ancient wisdom and modern physiology meet in equal measure.

We teach from source — Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika — not from trends. Classical wisdom provides the foundation that makes practice lasting.
Yoga and modern physiology are not in conflict. We integrate functional anatomy, breathwork science, and nervous system understanding into every course.
This is not performance yoga. We teach you to practice with honesty — meeting your body, your breath, and your awareness exactly where they are, and growing from there.
In every tradition, the breath is the bridge between body and mind. At Science and Stillness, breathwork is woven into every course — not added as an afterthought.
Science and Stillness is built on close, personal teaching. We build courses and communities where students feel supported, seen, and held accountable to their own growth.
Great yoga education should not require you to move to India. Science and Stillness brings the depth of traditional learning to students in every country, at their own pace.
Nisha Ahya is the founder of Science and Stillness and Stri Wellness — a Yoga Alliance USA-registered school (RYS, RPYT, RCYS, YACEP) that has touched the lives of students and teachers across more than 30 countries.
With a Master's degree in Yoga & Naturopathy, an ongoing PhD in Yoga, and certification as an IAYT Yoga Therapist and Hormone Health Specialist, Nisha brings an unusually rigorous academic lens to her teaching. Her 12+ years of experience span classical Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Aerial Yoga, pranayama, yoga philosophy, and specialised therapy for women's health across fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause.
Trained at the Sivananda Ashram and in Rishikesh, Nisha's teaching integrates the precision of anatomy, the depth of classical texts, and the practicality of lived experience. She is also a half-marathoner, a student of Ayurveda, and the host of the BreathMath podcast.
Utsav Rufus is an Ashtanga yoga teacher and yoga philosophy scholar whose classes are rooted in the living texts of the tradition. He brings the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita to life — not as history lessons, but as practical maps for how to practice, how to teach, and how to live.
His background in psychology and mindful leadership gives him an unusually nuanced understanding of how people learn, change, and resist change. Utsav is also the founder of Mindful Leadership Co., where he works with educators and professionals on communication, resilience, and behavioural intelligence.
His conviction is simple: philosophy without practice is theory, and practice without philosophy has no roots. His teaching holds both together.
Vidhi Punjabi is a yoga and naturopathy specialist whose teaching bridges the healing dimensions of classical yoga practice with the holistic principles of natural medicine. Her approach is gentle, rooted, and deeply attentive — making her particularly skilled at guiding students through therapeutic and restorative practices.
Trained in both yoga science and naturopathy, Vidhi weaves an understanding of the body's natural healing intelligence into every session. She is also drawn to the profound intersection of sound and stillness — exploring how sound healing practices can support the nervous system, deepen meditation, and facilitate inner restoration.
Her teaching interests span yoga for chronic wellness, guided meditation, nervous system restoration, and the integration of sound as a healing modality alongside classical practice.

At Science and Stillness, we teach yoga the way it was intended to be learned — as a complete system of self-knowledge. Not just poses. Not just breathing. The whole architecture of how a human being can live with clarity, health, and inner freedom.
This means classical texts sit beside modern anatomy. Breathwork science explains what ancient pranayama masters already knew. Philosophy is not abstract — it is tested against the reality of daily practice. And every course, however focused, is designed to expand not just your skill but your understanding of who you are.
Classical texts, philosophy, and the science behind the practice.
Consistent, intelligent movement guided by experienced teachers.
Carry the understanding off the mat and into the way you live.
Whether you are a curious beginner, a dedicated practitioner, or a teacher seeking to deepen your knowledge — there is a course here for you.
